My Reiki practice
When I first learned about Reiki in 2019, I thought it sounded wild, like something that couldn’t possibly be true, or real. I’d always been skeptical of, yet simultaneously intrigued by, energy healing work. But I decided that I had to try it – that if it turned out to have any truth to it, I’d be crazy not to.
In my first session, I noticed waves of a warm tingling sensation sweeping through my body. I noticed a deeper sense of calm, peace, and relaxation settling within. And as I continued in my sessions I was amazed to feel my anxiety falling away, and found myself feeling more centered, grounded, and true. I felt, for the first time in a long time, at peace.
I received my first attunement later that year so I could continue working on my own personal growth and healing, and my Reiki practice remained a very private, sustaining force until this year when I decided to explore its potential and really open it up. I received my second attunement in April of 2026.
My theme for this year is alignment, and stepping out into the world as a Reiki practitioner is an important piece of my alignment journey. I’m excited to find myself on a path that’s so deeply infused with my values and natural modes of being, where I can show up as my whole true self and offer support to others – whether it’s for a single relaxing session or the spiritual journey of a lifetime.
Practicing Reiki is so deeply about each individual and each session, about being wholly in the present moment with the Reiki energy and its work, about supporting and holding space for each client’s experience.
But to me, this work is just as deeply about collective healing, transformation, and liberation. Practicing Reiki is my highest response to the call we’re collectively experiencing to step into something that’s more authentic to each one of us, and regenerative for all of us.
Come as you are, knowing that I’d be honored to support you.
More about me and how I got here
I was born in Hong Kong and lived there until I left for college in Seattle. I spent five years in Seattle and then six in Boulder, Colorado before moving to Taiwan with my husband for six years. We moved back to the US in 2024 with our 2 year-old to put down roots in Denver.
For the first ~18 years of my life I was a Christian, then I was an atheist & materialist before becoming happily agnostic. Throughout these transitions I earned a BA in Philosophy and a certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
I no longer identify with any religion, and I no longer feel the need to have all the answers. I have theories and inclinations, of course, and I continue to love exploring the possibilities of reality. I tend to jibe with eastern philosophies much more than western (probably no surprise given that I’ve spent two thirds of my life in Asia), and I think in another life I’d like to be a Buddhist monk.
Underneath it all, ultimately, I believe that everything is energy, and everything is one.
One of the things I love most about Reiki is its openness and universality – you don’t need to claim a particular religion or worldview or set of beliefs to practice, or receive, Reiki. You only need to allow the possibility that this universal life-force energy exists, and can work for your greater good.
Anyway, outside of my Reiki practice and spiritual journey I’ve worked as a barista, English teacher, travel blogger, and in marketing as a SaaS content writer. When I’m not doing this work you might find me volunteering with The Park People as a Community Forester to take care of Denver’s trees (and plant more!), working on my passion project Sustainable in Denver, or chasing my 4 year old around Cheesman Park.
